Pre-Purchase Surveys

Pre-acquisition surveys from traditional dwellings to the more unusual.  A detailed review of exposed structure and fabric all contained within a comprehensive Report to inform the prospective purchaser.  This Report can also be utilised by the Vendor as a Sellers Pack document.

Design of Alterations

Part of David’s involvement in Country Estates has involved the design of alterations to the Estate Listed Buildings including extensions, adaption and conversion of barns to both Holiday Cottages and Let residential units.

Axminster Heritage Centre

David George has been acting for the Axminster Heritage centre since 2009, being the lead consultant and designer for the conversion of the original Axminster Carpets site to the new, state of the art Axminster Town and Axminster Carpets Heritage and visitor centre and Museum

Stable Conversion

David George has acted for a number of charities and funded institutions including Farms for City Children.   Previously underused stables at their Iddesleigh site were converted to a food tech/kitchen facility.

Associated advice included Planned Maintenance programmes to the main house as well as repairs and reconstruction to walled garden features.  

Insurance Reinstatement Works

David has completed a number of Insurance reinstatement works which included coordination of initial surveys following specialist structural assessment, temporary works, the design of the repairs and reconstruction, obtaining all Statutory Consents (Listed Building Consent and Building Regulations) and project coordination to completion.

Port Eliot

Ugbrooke House is a Grade I Listed Robert Adam House in Devon, home to the Lords Clifford since the Seventieth Century.  David has been involved with Ugbrooke House since 2009 dealing with everything from Planned Maintenance to numerous repair and conservation projects. 

 

Notable projects include water damage repairs to the principle reception rooms and, currently, the conversion of one wing to family accommodation
